After what I can say was nothing short of an excellent November drinks party we are looking forward to our December and Christmas drinks party so get into the Christmas spirit and come and join us in THE PIANO LOUNGE and DOVER BAR for a complimentary glass of wine, for guests who arrive between 7-8pm, courtesy of Jason Bradbury at GranadaWines (Premier Cru Champagne at £17 per bottle and quality wines at £4.90 per bottle delivered to your door.
Your Hosts – Curtis, Jean Francois, Patricia and Alastair will be meeting and greeting. Our members and guests are all ages and professions. A great night to network - so chat, flirt or talk shop its up to you !! There is NO admission charge and the drinks prices are very reasonable…
As Santa has supplied us with some Goodies including "A Trip To Venice For The Carnival" in February 2009 courtesy of Adam and Steve Travel , “Forest” - photography on canvas and other treats your Hosts will be dipping deep into Santa’s sack for special lucky dip winners… (I wonder what he’ll find eh). Just pop your business card in the hat on the night. Everyone has an equal chance of winning !!
We will also be treated to some naughty twists on some festive favourites with the likes of “Jingle Bells” from Far From Kansas who, handpicked from the ranks of the internationally renowned London Gay Men's Chorus, combine musical excellence with warmth, humour and style. For fifteen years the Chorus has provided a soundtrack to London's gay life so it's with enormous pride that it now offers special packages perfect for civil ceremonies and other events.

The Iconic London LGBT bookshop’s history, significance and continued struggle for survival in its 30th year
Once upon a time in the late 70’s an ambitious, geeky, literate and politically left-wing group called Gay Icebreakers got together and decided to open the UK’s first ever gay bookshop. Founder, Ernest Hole, wanted to choose a name that beamed out across a then still largely prejudiced society and declared “we’re here, we’re queer, we’re staying and, look…now we’re getting smart about it, too.” Taken from the title of a 1950’s Ivor Novello musical, it may sound a little provincial today, but Gay’s the Word was more than just the name for a bookshop; it was a pioneering statement of deliberate visibility in days dark with prejudice. Sara Gilbert was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Roseanne as well as the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female for her role in Poison Ivy.
Her two older adoptive half siblings were stars of Little House on the Prairie: Melissa Gilbert and Jonathan Gilbert. Gilbert decided at age six that she wanted to be an actress after her older sister, Melissa Gilbert, got a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Following appearances in television movies and a commercial for Kool Aid, at the age of thirteen she landed the role of Darlene Conner, the sarcastic middle child, in Roseanne. Sara was a cast member during the show's nine-year run from 1988 to 1997, for which she also wrote a fourth-season episode called "Don't Make Me Over".
She has been in a lesbian relationship with Allison Adler since 2002. They had a son named Levi Hank Gilbert-Adler born in October 2004 , and a daughter named Sawyer born on August 2, 2007. Allison carried the couple's son and Gilbert carried their daughter.
