Anthony Christian’s work features in some of the most prominent private art collections in the world such as those of: HM Queen Elizabeth II, Baroness Marie-Helene de Rothschild, Viscountess de Ribes, Gore Vidal, Mrs J Heinz and Bill Blass.
His style most resembles the techniques of Leonardo da Vinci and he has dedicated his life to the discovery of all means possible, to paint the most beautiful works of art ever.
As a Portrait Artist he has painted many of the world's rich and famous including: Lord Mountbatten, Baroness Olympia de Rothschild, Baroness Fiona Thyssen, Lord Lichfield, Blake Edwards, Lord Rothermere, Julie Christie and Terence Stamp.
At only 10 years of age he was granted the privilege of studying the techniques of the "Old Masters" such as Rubens and Rembrandt at the National Gallery in London which led to the newspapers announcing him as a “child prodigy” To this day no other students and professional Artists have been given permission to utilise this method of learning, under the age of eighteen.
Few people have heard of him as he chooses to live a bohemian existence, as a virtual recluse, making recognition extremely difficult. He spends most of the year living in Southern India, on one of the most beautiful properties in the world, surrounded by the various collections he has made from brass to glass, baskets to African gourds, textiles to costumes and an amazing library covering virtually every Artist and Museum in the world.
He is a true eccentric and believes that .. “Inspiration cannot be invented; it comes from God through nature. The true artist works primarily for the God he believes in, secondly for himself, simply doing what he feels he must do”.
Anthony thinks that “True Artists are the luckiest and richest people alive, having been given the gift of sight and vision; their Art is the sharing of that gift”.
“God's Brush" - This beautifully written autobiography tells of Anthony Christian's early life, of a child's determination to pursue his art. It is a touching, revealing and riveting story of a boy who grew up to become one of the great Artists of our time. Personalised signed copies available on the night. £25
